Tempus Facilities Management started small as a two-person home-office family operation in Southend-On-Sea in 2011 and has since out-grown a number of premises in both Southend and in London. Now with over a dozen office-based staff across two sites, Plan IT Support has assisted Tempus with their IT solutions from the beginning.
Tempus FM operates across the UK and Ireland, offering full workplace and building management for public and commercial customers in social housing, healthcare, education, retail and hospitality. Their remit is broad, covering mechanical, electrical, security and fire safety services, and also health, hygiene and environmental management. Tempus FM has evolved to become a respected name in facilities management.
Their initial setup included a home office with two Windows PCs and a NAS drive. This solution was perfectly serviceable to begin with, but Tempus’s rapid growth demanded their IT solution that could keep up.
Plan IT Support was able to aid Tempus with their move to dedicated offices and was there again when Tempus was able to expand into bigger premises.

Requisition and installation of fifteen desktop PCs, networked to a Windows Server 2016 domain controller and file server. The network is protected with Sophos antivirus software and backed-up to an off-site data-centre via Acronis. Productivity, collaboration, and communications tools are handled by Microsoft 365, with a bespoke level of security and access. CRM is fulfilled by Clik, in the office and remotely.
Installation of 100/100Mbps leased line with Cisco Meraki cloud networking and VPN. This allows Tempus to work seamlessly across multiple sites and came into its own during 2020’s COVID-19 lockdown when all staff swiftly and easily moved to home working. A VoIP telephone system was also installed alongside Tempus’s data network. Tempus uses a mix of desktop telephone handsets and mobile VoIP apps.
Tempus is committed to its environmental responsibilities and this is reflected in their paperless systems. CRM, job tracking and invoicing is purely digital. Tempus FM hasn’t stopped yet! They continue to streamline their systems and processes, and Plan IT Support will continue to aid them in their success.
